Verify your backup

You can check the availability of your Olvid profiles backup and its key.

Verify that your backup is available

iOS
  1. Tap  > Backup settings .
  2. Under MANUAL BACKUP, the date and time of the last backup is displayed. Otherwise, tap Backup now until this information is displayed.
  3. Find the backup file and check your backup key.
Android
  1. Tap  > Backup settings.
  2. The date and time of your last manual or automatic backups are displayed. Otherwise, run a backup until this information is displayed.
  3. Find the backup file and check your backup key.

Check your backup key

Check if you can enter your backup key before restoring your backup.

iOS
  1. Tap  > Backup settings .
  2. Tap Verify or generate new backup key.
  3. Enter your backup key by pressing in the field indicating XXXX… Some characters are equivalent. No need to enter spaces.
  4. If the key is correct, you can press Cancel (or simply pull down the screen) and carefully store the paper with your key.
Android
  1. Tap  > Backup settings.
  2. Tap  Check or regenerate a backup key.
  3. Enter your backup key by pressing in the field indicating XXXX… Some characters are equivalent. No need to enter spaces.
  4. Tap Check.
  5. If the key is the right one, you can press OK and carefully put away the paper where your key is written.

Otherwise, generate a new backup key.
