Long awaited feature! You can now explicitly mention a contact in a discussion. Tap the ’@’ symbol in the composition field, choose who you want to mention, and you are good to go.
This feature changes the notification behavior for a “muted” discussion: if you receive a message that mentions you, or one that replies to a message that mentions you, or one that replies to one of your messages, you will always be notified.
This new notification behavior can be modified for all discussions at once, or for one discussion in particular.
In the list of recent discussions, you will see an ‘@’ symbol on all discussions that have a new message that mentions you.
It is now possible to drop an attachment directly in a discussion. Super handy in multitasking mode for our iPad users !
After scrolling up in a discussion, it is now easy to go right back down..
The different badges displaying counters are now always consistent.
Locked discussions would not appear in search results. This is fixed.
Fixes a bug related to saving and restoring retention settings.
Receipt of an edited message no longer generates a new notification. The previous notification is updated silently.
Switches the order of the “delete” and “archive” buttons for a discussion.

Introducing pinned discussions! You can now decide which discussions should always appear at the top of the list of recent discussions.
Pinned discussions can be reordered as you like.
Removes the selector allowing to switch between recent discussions, one-to-one discussions, and group discussions. Now, the latest discussions screen shows the latest discussions and the pinned discussions ;-)
Discussions can now be archived.
Archiving a discussion does not delete it, it only removes it from the list of recent discussions.
If a message is received (or sent) in an archived discussion, it is automatically unarchived.
Typing a draft in an archived discussion also unarchives it automatically.
To access an archived one-to-one discussion, navigate to the corresponding contact screen and tap the “Chat” button.
To access an archived group discussion, navigate to the corresponding group screen and tap the “Chat” button.
Following the possibility to archive a discussion, the cell showing a recent discussion can now be swiped both to the left and to the right so that all possible options are easily accessible.
Improved navigation on iPad.

Introducing a long awaited feature! You can now create as many (independent) profiles as you want! For example, you can create one for family and friends and another for work.
A profile can be “hidden”: showing it back requires a specific password. For an extra layer of privacy!
If a profile is allowed to make secure outgoing calls, all other profiles are as well.
Certain notifications were received twice, this is fixed.
iPad users with a physical keyboard can send messages by simply tapping Command + Return.
You can now clone any group, even if you are not administrator of the group.
Improved experience when sharing with Olvid: a list of all selected discussions now appears on top of the available discussions.
When forwarding a previously sent message, the forwarded message does not show the “forward” sign anymore.
Improves the virtual keyboard dismissal under iOS 15.5+.
It was not possible to have a white space when specifying a first name or a last name. This is fixed.
Certain link previews could “spin” forever. This is fixed.

The information screen about a sent message now shows information about the reception of its attachments and, if the recipient allows it, information about whether the attachment was seen or not.

A red badge allows to distinguish between audio messages you already listened to from those you did not.
Fixes an issue sometimes preventing messages to be marked as “not new” when entering a discussion.

New behavior of your address book! Now, an Olvid user becomes a contact only if you explicitly agree. You are now in full control of your address book!
A new list of “other” Olvid users is now accessible from the “Contacts” tab. Typically, these users are part of the same discussion groups as you. Inviting these users to be a contact of yours can be done in one tap!
A group invite from a contact is now automatically accepted.
You still need to explicitly accept group invites from Olvid users who are not part of your contacts.
Sharing with Olvid is now easier and you can now share content into multiple discussions at once!
Support for new emojis.
The reactions are larger and easier to tap.
Bugfix: The reactions were not properly refreshed (it required manual scrolling to actually see an update). This is fixed.
Bugfix: Fixes an issue with user notifications that wouldn’t show after an upgrade (until the first restart of the app)

In addition to the nickname, it is not possible to specify a custom picture for a contact.
When receiving an incoming call, Olvid now check whether the user granted access to the microphone. If this is not the case, the calls fails and the user is notified.
It is now possible to list and clean all iCloud backups, right from the backup settings.
It is possible to make a manual backup to iCloud even if automatic backups are not enabled.
The new discussion screen is now available under iPadOS 15.
The new composition view (available on iOS 15) has evolved! It now adapts to all screen sizes and font sizes.

This setting can be changed within the “Settings” tab. This choice can then be overridden on a per discussion basis.
Within a discussion, tapping the title navigates to the details of the contact or of the group. A new indicators allows to configure the discussion. This is the place to go for changing the “read receipt” setting for that particular discussion.

There is a new file viewer within Olvid ! Pictures, movies and pdf display much better than before. The new viewer allows to flick through all the attachments of a particular message.
