Send and reply to messages

Compose a message

  1. Tap the message composition area to bring up the keyboard.

  2. Compose your message.

  3. Tap to send your message.

You can also send an audio message or dictate text using voice input.

Here is how to dictate text on iPhone and dictate text on iPad.

To dictate text with Olvid using voice input, disable the Use keyboard incognito mode option in Olvid Settings (top right) > Settings > Privacy.

Reply to a message by quoting it

You can reply to a specific message by quoting it.

iPhone iPad

  1. Slide the message to be quoted to the right.

    Or press the message to display its options, then tap Reply in the menu that appears.

  2. Compose your message.

React to a message with an emoji

You can react to a message at any time.

iPhone iPad
  1. Double tap the message to display your emojis.
  2. Tap an emoji to post your reaction.

  1. Press the message to display its options.
  2. Tap an emoji to post your reaction.

You can also select your favorite emojis and edit your own keyboard of reactions.

Show all reactions

Tap the reaction emoji that appears below the message to view all reactions to it.

Edit your reaction

  1. Show all reactions
  2. Tap a new emoji to post your new reaction.

Or tap to delete your reaction.

Android
  1. Press the message to display its options.
  2. Tap a new emoji to replace the previous one.
